I had no inclination to rock it out at my gym session this morning. Felt bloated and yucky. I walked during my cardio warmup (which as of 2 weeks ago I've been running the whole 5-10mins) and didn't put as much oomph behind my punches and circuit work. Felt so blah.
So when I got to the end of my stretches and one of the girls asked how I did (cal burn wise) I was absolutely shocked to see 961 on my polar. So shocked, I think you could've driven a mack truck into my mouth. So instead of pulling up and patting myself on the back for a job well done, I jumped back on the treadmill and rocked out another 50 calories. Boy did I feel good hitting the magic 1000 mark. All in an hour and 20.
By the time my heartrate was back down to 170 (it spiked at 191!) the monitor said I'd burned 1086 cals. I'll take that any day of the week! Now to convince myself that I still have to do my Super Saturday Session after a trip into town tomorrow. :/
All about my journey to finding the carefree, vibrant, unashamed, unselfconscious me! From a couch potato to a...??? We'll see!

It rolls around again!
I look forward to and dread this day all at once. Every day this week(every week) I jump on the scales to see how the weight loss progress is going. And it's been a sad week. I've been anywhere from -.5kg to +2kg! OMG...
So I was dreading today... But bravely I stood up on those bodgy dodgy scales and saw 96.5kg. Awesome! Over 1kg gone forever! Yippee!
My newbie 12wbt FB group has started a challenge to see if collectively we can burn 250,000 calories before the end of Feb. We're 3 days in and we've burned over 40,000 already! How amazing are we??? We also have a competition to see who can burn 10,000 cals on their own first! I am nowhere near going to win that, but it is totally amazing to be thinking of writing my awesome (+500) cal burn every night on to our little spreadsheet.
I love our (not so little) group of women (and men) on that website. Everyone is so supportive and I'm not afraid of showing my weaknesses. I hope that others are comfortable to do the same. I know when things start going downhill for me, that the communication slacks off a bit - FB, blogs, home, whatever. So if I go missing - just nudge me here and I'll try and own up to my progress (or lack of!)
I have well and truly smashed my goal of 100kg by the time pre-season is over and Round 1 kicks off on Monday. I am now 96.5kg and have lost 8.5kg in 5.5 weeks.
I AM AWESOME!
Stats for this weigh in day:
Starting Weight (1 Jan): 105 kg
Last week's weight: 97.7 kg
This week's Weight: 96.5 kg
Weight lost this week: 1.2 kg
Weight lost overall: 8.5 kg

It felt so strange...
...Not to go for a walk yesterday. Yesterday was my rest day and it just felt like there was something missing.
Instead I focussed on the food side of things. I've worked out that I actually need to plan my meals BEFORE I eat them. Otherwise I get to the end of the day and I've got too few or too many calories left to eat for dinner. So yesterday after lunch, I planned my dinner, entered it into my fitness pal, and was 8 cals shy of the 1200 magic number. Felt so good! I've always been 100-200 over or under, so to have it there shows I need to make the good decisions BEFORE I eat.
So this week, I'm planning my menu in advance (some new from Michelle's Bridges' cookbooks and the Bikini Cookbook) and some staples (bbq+salad, spag bog etc).
I'm set and ready to go.
I also broached the topic of sliding another workout at the gym to my husband last night, and he was surprisingly supportive! Awesome! (I say surprisingly because we're saving to build our home and I'm not working at the moment.) I really do have a very supportive hubby, despite the fact that he can't see any visible differences in me yet! LOL
Back to it today! One one more week of pre-season and then we're starting! So excited!
