I look forward to and dread this day all at once. Every day this week(every week) I jump on the scales to see how the weight loss progress is going. And it's been a sad week. I've been anywhere from -.5kg to +2kg! OMG...
So I was dreading today... But bravely I stood up on those bodgy dodgy scales and saw 96.5kg. Awesome! Over 1kg gone forever! Yippee!
My newbie 12wbt FB group has started a challenge to see if collectively we can burn 250,000 calories before the end of Feb. We're 3 days in and we've burned over 40,000 already! How amazing are we??? We also have a competition to see who can burn 10,000 cals on their own first! I am nowhere near going to win that, but it is totally amazing to be thinking of writing my awesome (+500) cal burn every night on to our little spreadsheet.
I love our (not so little) group of women (and men) on that website. Everyone is so supportive and I'm not afraid of showing my weaknesses. I hope that others are comfortable to do the same. I know when things start going downhill for me, that the communication slacks off a bit - FB, blogs, home, whatever. So if I go missing - just nudge me here and I'll try and own up to my progress (or lack of!)
I have well and truly smashed my goal of 100kg by the time pre-season is over and Round 1 kicks off on Monday. I am now 96.5kg and have lost 8.5kg in 5.5 weeks.
I AM AWESOME!
Stats for this weigh in day:
Starting Weight (1 Jan): 105 kg
Last week's weight: 97.7 kg
This week's Weight: 96.5 kg
Weight lost this week: 1.2 kg
Weight lost overall: 8.5 kg
All about my journey to finding the carefree, vibrant, unashamed, unselfconscious me! From a couch potato to a...??? We'll see!

Bah...
I can totally see how roadblocks are thrown in your path and you have to do everything in your power not to fall back into old habits. Just found out today that my Nanna (mum's mum) and my Great Aunt (mum's aunt, also mum's second mum) are both dying and only have weeks to live.
I dont have a great relationship with my nanna but am sad for my Mum. She's absolutely devastated.
I so desperately wanted to comfort eat tonight, but fought my way through it. In the end I had two mnms to solve that instant craving and had a big glass of water.
Off to Perth tomorrow to visit both my nanna and my great aunt.... to say goodbye. Just so sad.

It felt so strange...
...Not to go for a walk yesterday. Yesterday was my rest day and it just felt like there was something missing.
Instead I focussed on the food side of things. I've worked out that I actually need to plan my meals BEFORE I eat them. Otherwise I get to the end of the day and I've got too few or too many calories left to eat for dinner. So yesterday after lunch, I planned my dinner, entered it into my fitness pal, and was 8 cals shy of the 1200 magic number. Felt so good! I've always been 100-200 over or under, so to have it there shows I need to make the good decisions BEFORE I eat.
So this week, I'm planning my menu in advance (some new from Michelle's Bridges' cookbooks and the Bikini Cookbook) and some staples (bbq+salad, spag bog etc).
I'm set and ready to go.
I also broached the topic of sliding another workout at the gym to my husband last night, and he was surprisingly supportive! Awesome! (I say surprisingly because we're saving to build our home and I'm not working at the moment.) I really do have a very supportive hubby, despite the fact that he can't see any visible differences in me yet! LOL
Back to it today! One one more week of pre-season and then we're starting! So excited!

SS Friday
Gym again yesterday! And it was awesome! Through my various facebook 12wbt pages I've managed to find a few people that live in/around the town in which I gym. One of the girls said the other day that she might come and join me. And she did! It was so nice to meet her. Felt good knowing that someone was on the same journey as me.
And BOY did she work hard! I thought I was working hard and then I look over and see her making mince-meat of the activity! She was amazing. I was in awe! She did round 3 12wbt last year and is going back for a repeat. We compared HRMs at the end and I'd burned 100 more cals - but I'm totally putting that down to the fact that I'm so unfit! Getting better, but still really unfit.
Achievements from yesterday:
1. Planked for 17 secs. That's my record so far - full stretch.
2. Ran intervals on the treadmill - 1min 7.5/8.0, 1min 5.7 for 5 minutes. Could have gone much longer, but that's all that was allocated time-wise for the treadmill.
3. Still had energy at the end. I musn't have worked hard enough!!!!!!!
I'm seriously considering going to the gym on Mondays or Wednesdays and trying those classes too. Monday=Body Tone. Wednesday=Fitball blast. Hmmm.. Might wait until the kids are more comfortable at the creche. H was much better yesterday. Cried when we arrived in the carpark, but then settled down quickly once inside. M on the other hand cried as soon as I kissed her goodbye. She took awhile to settle apparently.
I also went for my walk last night. 247 cals there too. So all up: 1034. Awesome!

The 'Junk' Cupboard
Wow! I couldnt complete the sixth task: Pantry assessment.
Michelle wanted us to throw out all of the processed, junkie foods. I understand her reasoning behind it completely. If I'm not putting it into my body, then I shouldn't be feeding it to my kids or my husband. Totally get it.
But - my husband and kids aren't 25kg overweight. The kids eat VERY well. Lots of fruit during the day and plenty of salads/vegies for dinner. And I refuse to throw out the one thing that I can be guaranteed that my little boy will eat - potato gems! He wont eat the bloody prawns I cooked us for dinner (YUM!) but he will eat potato gems! Ha!
Plus, my hubby as supportive as he is, loves his 'treats'. He's within the healthy weight range - and has been for years and years. So if he wants to keep his treats, then I think as long as they're not staring me in the face... that's fine!
But it's an attrocious looking cupboard! The crap that's in there! Oh my goodness! And it's not even HALF of what it has been previously!

Look! Donuts, Lollies, Chips, Mars Bars, Snickers... OMG - the list goes on and on! The top shelf has crap that he loves and leftover lolly gifts from Christmas.
I WILL have the willpower to stay away from this cupboard! Out of sight out of mind!

Wee & Weigh Wedne.... Errrr Thursday!
Ok... so my weigh in day was yesterday. But at my parents' house without my bodgy dodgy scales. So today, now that I'm home, I weight in! It LOOKS like a kilo loss, but on my scales I never can tell, so I'm going with 800g. A great loss nonetheless. There were so many things I could improve on, and I'm going to work really hard to do that this week!
Today's task is cleaning out the pantry. Hubby looked a little distraught at that, so I'm moving the junk out of the pantry and into another cupboard. I'll take a photo and post it once I'm done!
Stats for the weigh in day:
Starting Weight (1 Jan): 105 kg
Last week's weight: 98.5 kg
This week's Weight: 97.7 kg
Weight lost this week: 0.8 kg
Weight lost overall: 7.3kg

Hmmm... the excuses need to be updated.
I found a new excuse last night:
I can't do my exercise because I'm staying at my parents' place. I totally should be able to leave the kids here and go for a walk/run! Silly me. Did nothing! Ate really well, but did nothing :(
When I head home today, I WILL do the Michelle Bridges DVD and I WILL go for my walk tonight. I'll check in tonight to tell you how I've done!
And today is Wee & Weigh Wednesday. My parents' Wii is telling me I'm 96.6. But I dont have a lot of faith in that thing. I have been weighing at home and was only expecting 1kg loss this week. If I'm really 96.6, that would be 1.9kg off. I'd be ecstatic if this was the case, but I will weigh in tomorrow and let you all know!
Have a good day everyone!
